starting a beauty business that doesn’t break you
I was hitting middle and high five-figure months. Churning and burning. Wheeling and dealing. I was so proud of myself.
Having a fully booked schedule, a waiting list, and my phone going off the hook made me feel like I had made it.
Not too long after, my left hand started to get tendonitis from working so much with a fully booked lash clientele. And not too long after that, I realized that the social demand of the job was weighing heavily on me, leaving me exhausted by the end of the day, and left me deflated by the end of the week. I realized I had to make some changes in how I ran my business so that my business wouldn’t run me.
Working 60 and even 80 hours a week isn’t what business ownership has to be, and I guarantee it’s not what will help you hit your long-term goals of being financially free and mentally and physically healthy.
Sustainable business in the beauty and wellness industry means that the business is able to be carried on, for a long period of time, without the high chance of breaking down, or breaking you down.
This is why keeping the end in mind is the most important thing you can do. The foundation is created with your values, and the systems are built on top of that to grow and scale.
Scaling a beauty business means earning more while working less; it’s integrating high profit products, implementing effective solutions to system gaps, and adding high-profit margin beauty services like lash extensions or brow waxing to your existing service menu and client base.
Learning how cross-selling techniques for estheticians and beauty pros work, you can double and even triple your revenue without adding a single extra hour of labor to your week.
I rebuilt my business to support my lifestyle and goals by creating a website that prospective clients could find and book easily, creating clear, high-end service menu options, and offering irresistible upsells to my current clients.
True productivity for estheticians and true sustainability for all beauty and wellness service providers means getting the most out of every room, every chair, and every hour your business is operating.
To be fully transparent about what I do, I do not offer coaching services.
I do, however, offer consulting services to beauty and wellness professionals to help you ensure your goals are aligned with your values and long‑term plans, and give you actionable, proven suggestions and resources, to make sure you’re using your time and money wisely so that you can avoid mistakes that cost you money and waste your time.
